About Us
Kevington Building Products Ltd was founded in 1987 by co-founders Duncan Cunningham and Iain Durrant and initially operated from Kevington Farm in the Kent countryside. The company was set up in a bid to offer an efficient and competitive cutting service to the construction industry and to fill the gap created by the extended delivery periods which were quoted at the time by most brick manufacturers.
By the time Warren Dean joined the company in 1992 the company was gathering momentum, and with the increase in sales achieved during the following twelve months, a second factory was opened in Gloucestershire which serviced the West Country. During the next few years the business grew from strength to strength and by the year 2000 there were five Kevington factories operating throughout the UK.
The product portfolio had also transformed from basic cutting to the manufacture of BS special shapes and prefabricated brickwork components which evolved under the “offsite construction” theme.
The Kevington profile was raised to new levels during 2000 following the creation of the Faststack chimney system. This prefabricated chimney system was the first credible chimney system offering real brick slips and set the standards against which others were, and still are, measured.
Following on from the success of the 1990`s, in 2001 the directors of Kevington Building Products entered into an agreement with CRH Plc, the international building materials group. With this backing Kevington has continued to grow and now operates from seven sites throughout the UK offering a truly comprehensive national service. The business today is still run under the leadership of Duncan, Iain and Warren who continue to apply their personal values and strive to ensure Kevington continues to innovate, develop and lead the market. |
